Clemson and FSU are leaving

Speaking of fantasy...no disrespect intended, but watching fans of ACC schools hold on to a belief that the P2 is not going to add the larger market ACC schools is like watching European countries hold on to a belief that Hitler is done expanding past Poland despite continuing to build the world's largest arsenal of soldiers, tanks, planes and weapons. The P2 doesn't wish to compete against other conferences, they bought it all and the market is still open. Clemson and FSU are leaving. They are not going through this process without knowing where they land. If the court doesn't process it soon enough they will pay the fee agreed to in settlement and split. There are absolutely claw back clauses and non-compete clauses and non-disclosure clauses in almost every settlement. FSU is not interested in paying an absorbent amount of money so other schools can use it to pay to get out at a lesser fee. I would have thought that just to be common knowledge.

You make it sound like the GOR and the ESPN contract are the same thing.
Maroon Baboon 03/21/24 10:55 PM ET
If ESPN pulls the funding and the ACC implodes, it will be cheaper to buy..
EDGEMAN 03/22/24 06:46 AM ET
The GoR has always been tied to the ESPN deals

Not necessarily....

Only a court can determine whether the GOR is separate from the ESPN deal

The ACC is Tier 2 football making Tier 2 football money

IMO, that is primarily what the Clemson suit is about; i.e.,

I can not see a way the HOOs and UNC would consider the SEC.
