Yeah, Notre Dame is so committed in the ACC that they refuse

to join the conference for football. ND is treating the ACC as nothing more than a commodity, and a low-value commodity at that. In fact, I'd bet dollars to donuts that if ND knew the "Catholic 7" were going to guy the Big East trademark rights and start their own basketball/non-rev sports conference, they'd have never made their little "deal" with the ACC in the first place - Notre Dame basketball and non-rev sports would be playing in the "new" Big East right now. The only reason they didn't is because they didn't want to end up in a basketball league with USF, Boise State, North Texas, Charlotte, and SDSU, and didn't have a crystal ball. They still don't want to end up in such a quagmire now, which is why they're likely going to end up in the Big East anyway once the ACC collapses on itself and becomes another G5 conference. You're obviously very low-information when it comes to conference realignment. My analysis, insights, and posts on this realignment board spring from what I've seen happen in college athletics over the last 30 years; I'm not here to pump sunshine for the ACC and cheer on Wake Forest. If that's what you're into, there's an ACC sub-reddit you can join and pump your fists all day with all the SMU fans.
