That is what everyone keeps saying, but I don't buy it. The

top conferences had a monopoly on the big bowls from the beginning of time It's how they developed "blue bloods". Win it on the field, it's the only way. Tradition sometimes isn't right. Go to 24 like the FCS, have the to 8 schools get a bye and a guaranteed home playoff game. Get rid of the traditional bowl venues, and let cities bid on the semi finals and final. Where is tradition today? If it's about money now - which it is, and may have always been, let's make the big bucks, and spread the wealth.

More is not better. Football is not basketball
VT ChemE 1986 12/12/25 11:03 AM ET
Right. That would be like letting a 7-9 team into the NFL playoffs

If the bowls are dying, which they are, I think that we have 2 options

Expand the playoffs, and pay players for the other bowls.**
Big12 guy 12/12/25 12:52 PM ET
And for all the ND talk, they only made the playoff 3 times in 11 years
HokieAl 12/12/25 08:18 AM ET
How many individual teams have made it more than 3 times?**
TerryD 12/12/25 12:34 PM ET
