Maybe. Phillips has demonstrated he will go to the mat to retain the

current contract, with it's multipliers. The Lawsuits of FSU/CU threaten the value of the conference and the extension of the contract. The 3 new additions did not bring value to the conference or ESPN based on their viewership numbers, so it would not surprise me if there are not more lawsuits. If ESPN balks, and tries to walk away as some have said they could, do you think Phillips would sue them? I do. If Miami of VT have a secure invite to the Big 10, would they file as well? I would also like the ACC to stay together, but that is also an emotion. What we all really want, is enough revenue to at least compete with the big boys. I couldn't care less if they make more money, but the playing field, rules, and the post season should be used as equalizers, or at the very least, equal opportunity. The FSU/CU suits haven't gone anywhere, because of the legal process, not because of the merits. There are compelling arguments on both sides, and I think (opinion) that the ACC is trying to run out the clock, and get that contract extension. When something substantial breaks one way or the other in regards to the GOR, you could see a different situation, and there very well may be others that join FSU/Clemson. ** Edited by Big12 guy at 8/1/2024, 3:55:33 PM
