because at present ND is still one of the haves benefitting inordinately to their actual contributions and performance on the field and still trading on the bygone mystique of 40 or 50 or more years ago. At least the SEC and B1G can make the case their performance warrants their status as haves for the conferences as a whole, even if it really only applies to a limited number of institutions.
