I think it comes down to coaching. KU has lost 6
games this year, but they have been beat only once, by K-State. Every other game this season they had the better team on the field, only to lose by late and untimely turnovers, penalties, and mental mistakes -they beat themselves. It was very frustrating, because it is a veteran group of players. That was a sign of bad coaching, and I was questioning the coaching staff.
Like Florida, they could have folded, given up on the season, and be like FSU. However, Napier kept those kids believing, and the team has improved as the season has progressed? Napier may have saved his job, and Leipold at Kansas may have solidified his position. Not because they are having a break out year like an Indiana, but because those kids didn't give up, and are finally playing to their potential.
