I do not favor using ACC hoops cred to further strengthen SEC basketball

Those clowns can already afford to spend more money on basketball than ACC schools are able or willing to do. I just see this arrangement as giving the SEC the opportunity to gain more head-to-head wins over the ACC, which will eventually negate the argument that the ACC is the better league and the better avenue for kids to get to the NBA. The only SEC program with top level credibility is Kentucky, and the Cats will get perpetually rotated between UNC and Duke with perhaps an occasional game against UVa, etc. There are not going to be any matchups between Tech and UK. As long as the SEC-B12 challenge has been going on, UK has almost always been matched against Kansas. WVU, for example, has played UK just once in that time even though there is a dormant, natural rivalry that dates back to the late 1950s. The problem with these challenges is that ESPN is allowed to set the marquee matchups it wants every year instead of allowing a more natural rotation among all conference members. It's why Tech has never played Indiana or Michigan State in the B1G challenge and routinely gets matched with Iowa and PSU.

I don't see much difference in that regard.

Great for the SEC. Good for ESPN. Bad for the ACC.**

Hokies took care of business tonight. Hope the Hoos do as well.

UVA has to play at Michigan.

F$U has a lot of injured players. No idea when if or when they'll return
EDGEMAN 11/28/22 09:28 PM ET
Yeah makes sense, now let’s use week 0 for football for similar matchups.
Stech 11/28/22 04:29 PM ET
I'm sure ESPN will do whatever it takes
Millpoint 11/28/22 04:55 PM ET
Makes sense, no reason you can’t have some great cross conference rivalry
Stech 11/28/22 10:57 PM ET
I can honestly see some ready for tv matchups for the first year

Probably more “drivable” Big Ten schools than SEC, and the Big Ten
