Here is what i don't get with this "NFL Concept"

The NFL does not have concurrent "rival" leagues playing at the same time and even playing their teams. The B1G and SEC may dominate air time and money, but I'm not sure their AFC/NFC concept will be widely accepted. PROS: - The B1G will have some great matchups among OSU, McChicken, PSU, USC, UCLA and a few other teams when they have good years (Sparty, Wisky, Iowa, etc.) - The SEC will have some great matchups among Bama, UGA, Okie, Texas and a few other teams when they have good years (Auburn, UT, Gators, aTm, etc.) - If they rig the playoff with a B1G playoff on one side and an SEC playoff on the other... with a B1G/SEC SuperBowl at the end, it will surely draw eyeballs for a while. CONS: - Good luck to Maryland, Rutgers, NW, Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, etc. You will be well paid for all the beatdowns. - Good luck to Vandy, UK, SCar, Mizzou, etc. You will be well paid for all the beatdowns. - Fans of schools left out will not accept their financial relegation. Clemson, FSU, Miami, VT, Oregon, Ok State, Stanford, Cal, UNC, uva, WVU, Pitt, Loserville, GT, NCSU, Colorado, ASU, Arizona, Washington, etc. The B1G and SEC won't take them all. Not even half of these. What good will a system be where Rutgers and Vandy have access that these schools don't? - Some of the power programs in the B1G and SEC will fall off (see: Nebraska). When you have all of these big programs playing each other all the time... somebody has to lose. Somebody has to be Texas LOL. The bloom will be off the rose on some of these programs. As a VT fan first and a college football fan second, I just don't see how I would be terribly interested if VT is left out. I may watch a few big games in the B1G and SEC on occasion, but my attention will remain where it has always been - VT games and ACC games that matter. The new World Order will make the B1G and SEC teams lots of money... but it will eventually kill the Golden Goose IMHO.

Big 10 to 20?**
OU_Sooner 08/19/22 10:53 AM ET
Why not 32?
HOO86 08/20/22 05:10 PM ET
Stopping at (20) is not good for VT. Especially if SEC stops at (20) as
133193Hokie 08/20/22 09:59 AM ET
Espn also doesn’t “have to” air more acc games if losing big10
3TechFanz 08/19/22 02:24 PM ET
But NBA doesn’t get into full swing until November
hokieZ71 08/19/22 06:05 PM ET
Yeah - does anybody watch NBA games in November?
VPI_1998 08/20/22 05:03 AM ET
well that is very specific. ACC window to act is closing quickly**
HokieAl 08/19/22 12:10 PM ET
This is why the ACC needs to add while it can.
hokieZ71 08/19/22 11:50 AM ET
The B1G adds UCLA & USC...
Old Line Hokie 08/19/22 04:01 PM ET
Yes keep the ACC in the Eastern time zone
hokieZ71 08/19/22 07:22 PM ET
If you are worried about Clemson and FSU leaving, I'm not sure adding
Maroon Baboon 08/19/22 01:09 PM ET
I guess you didn't read that part correctly
hokieZ71 08/19/22 01:54 PM ET
At this point I'd boot WF and BC for WVU and Cin
Truthahn 08/19/22 04:36 PM ET
Don't forget SYR - they are about to drop off the map in BBall and football
VPI_1998 08/20/22 05:26 AM ET
They likely already have 1 foot out the door anyways.**
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 01:14 PM ET
The ACC has no viable ways to act
Tailgate Guru 08/19/22 12:50 PM ET
yep, no real answer
Vippie1 08/19/22 05:48 PM ET
Given what Kevin Warren said in a recent interview with Real Sports HBO,
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 06:06 PM ET
If Rutgers and Maryland can do it with B1G $$, so can Tech**
Tailgate Guru 08/19/22 10:44 PM ET
If it is just for football, then yes VT could do it too.
VTHokie2000 08/20/22 08:24 AM ET
Is expanding still a good idea for the ACC if it means each school will
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 12:15 PM ET
Well clearly during discovery with ESPN that would come up
hokieZ71 08/19/22 12:29 PM ET
There may not be a scenario where the ACC can get to $45 million though
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 12:33 PM ET
ACCN money alone is going to get us close to $40M fairly soon.
hokieZ71 08/19/22 01:57 PM ET
If you can find the link, then I would be interested in reading the article
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 02:08 PM ET
Here you go
hokieZ71 08/19/22 02:27 PM ET
I think new money comes from new ACCN payments
Truthahn 08/19/22 04:42 PM ET
Are you suggesting ESPN might say no additional money to the
Femoyer Hokie 08/19/22 12:19 PM ET
I'm saying it could be either scenario. If ESPN doesn't believe these
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 12:31 PM ET
That's not how it would work. ACC would be adding inventory
HokieAl 08/19/22 12:39 PM ET
The inventory only has "value" if ESPN uses it. Given that ESPN is in cost
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 12:47 PM ET
Is the ACCN something that matters though?
hokieZ71 08/19/22 07:30 PM ET
The third league may already exist though.
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 07:35 PM ET
I believe the ACCN generated almost $200M revenue in 2020-21
hokieZ71 08/19/22 08:23 PM ET
That's my point there isn't going to be a "third mythical power conference"
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 08:41 PM ET
No I don't see that happening
hokieZ71 08/19/22 09:23 PM ET
The 12-team playoffs only happens if the Big Ten and SEC remain in the NCAA
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 09:30 PM ET
Possible.
hokieZ71 08/19/22 09:42 PM ET
It is possible and maybe even likely for a couple reasons. First, as I
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 09:58 PM ET
It all depends on Notre Dame
Millpoint 08/19/22 11:43 AM ET
SEC will get those ACC schools
Truthahn 08/19/22 04:31 PM ET
But the GOR is blocking all that.
hokieZ71 08/19/22 05:58 PM ET
I just don’t see 24 working.
hokieZ71 08/19/22 11:53 AM ET
If the P2 grows, then the payouts for the leftovers gets reduced
HokieAl 08/19/22 12:09 PM ET
I don't like 24 either**
Millpoint 08/19/22 12:06 PM ET
It will be an AFC-NFC concept with two conferences. TV rights like nfl now
3TechFanz 08/19/22 11:13 AM ET
Here is what i don't get with this "NFL Concept"
gman86 08/19/22 11:41 AM ET
Some of the weaker programs in the SEC and Big10
mancunian 08/19/22 02:26 PM ET
That's probably why there will be a third "power" league
hokieZ71 08/19/22 02:04 PM ET
There is always the possibility this could evolve into becoming a minor
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 12:22 PM ET
Nah, that loses its consumer base
hokieZ71 08/19/22 02:12 PM ET
The reason I said that is because the Kevin Warren is on the record
VTHokie2000 08/19/22 02:33 PM ET
Was listening to Full Ride
cvillehokie92 08/19/22 11:10 AM ET
