potentially good move for the NCAA
Their attempt to control $/rights that didn't belong to them has led to the current mess that is college sports. What they can control is the academic eligibility to play the sports they sanction.
For example, they can't control where a student goes to school. They can control what type of academic status a student has...and for how long they have had it...to represent a member in competition.
