I wonder how important NIL is in T&F and if it is hurting VT
The portal, roster limits, and coaching turnover (sprints, jumps, etc.) are probably also factors. The women's team as pretty hollowed out this year, with about 1/2 the events having nobody or only one VT athlete on the roster. On the men's side, the short sprint, hurdles, jumps, and throws group are definitely below the levels where they have been during the past decade.
