Day 11 and 12 Elevation Vacation……🦃❤️🥾🏔️
I am more tired today, than any day hiking up high. Yesterday was move to another time zone and laundry day. I had a few extra hours so I drove a long road to the Blue Lakes Trailhead to see Mount Sneffels from the back side. I flew from Grand Junction to Denver to Seattle, my wife from Richmond to Denver to Seattle. Lights out at 1:30AM PDT. Today was a quick visit to the Space Needle then drive to Ashford, WA, just outside of Mount Rainer NP. Time for dinner🙂 Mount Rainer exploration tomorrow!

yep, west coast gas prices.
Space needle's one of those thing I've known about since I was a kid, Kinda represented the Jetson's view of the future which I - and probably the rest of America - was into as a six year old kid at the time. Wish I had gone to the Women's bball playoff a few years back and would loved to have checked that off. ** Edited by `lag at 6/20/2026, 12:05:58 PM

Did you take the elevator to the top of the Space Needle?
You get a pretty good view from up there. Mt. Rainer is pretty neat. I've driven up to the ranger station a couple times. (Only hiked up the glacier a little way.)

Yes…………..fantastic view
Almost as good as on a mountain top😎 Top level: glass walls and no ceiling Middle level: bathrooms Bottom level: glass floors and the floor rotates 1 rev in 20 minutes or so. There is a bar on this floor and you can watch Seattle go by while drinking a $17 beer 😳

One $17 beer is worth it for the experience.

Ralph Lauren has a ranch on that side of Sneffels
I drove on it to get a lot of good pics of that whole ridge.
