Millennials and Gen Zers absolutely refuse to pick up the phone and call
someone. Earlier today I had a colleague who I’m guessing is in her 30s send me a Teams invite for a meeting 15 minutes from when the invite was sent. In the invite, she says it should only take a few minutes. She does good work and I appreciate it’s a generational thing, but their aversion to phone calls drives me crazy. ** Edited by RoswellGAHokie at 6/4/2026, 3:56:31 PM

I think some youngsters feel that if they use
something "old fashioned", even if more efficient, that somehow indicates they aren't technically savvy... Use the best tool you have for the job required, particularly if it involves an older customer - that indicates intelligence. Computers allow me to do in half the time what I never had to do before...of course I jest...but in some things there is some truth to that...

Is a call on Teams any different than a phone call?
