Good questions!
Guess it comes down to how much mass a gas planet contains…and how do they know how to measure it.

Scientists measure the mass of a gas planet by observing its gravitational pull on other objects. They calculate this using Newton's or Kepler's laws, which relate the object's orbital distance and period to the planet's mass. For distant exoplanets, they measure how the planet's gravity causes its host star to wobble.
