Random occasional trivia: New Wave music edition
In the Smith's "Bigmouth Strikes Again", there is a female voice backing track. This part was originally recorded by Kirstie MacColl (you might know her cover of "A New England"). Ultimately Morrisey and Johnny Marr decided not to use her vocals. In the liner notes, the part was credited to Ann Coates (a pseudonym). Who was Ann Coates...or put another way...who sang that part on the final version? ** Edited by JoesterVT at 5/5/2026, 1:35:14 PM

I know this...heard one of "DJs" on SiriusXM talking about a while back...
It was Morrisey, adjusted to a higher pitch. ** Edited by ShortFatHokie at 5/5/2026, 5:46:16 PM
