Day 4 Elevation Vacation…🦃🧡🥾🪜🏔️
The 4th time was the charm! Here are the numbers for Castle Peak: class 2+, 14,274’, 4600’ elevation gain, beautiful day on the mountain, started at 3:40 AM, finished at 3:30 PM. I was going to summit a neighbor of Castle, Conundrum Peak, but I was concerned will the amount of snow that I had to contend with and the bright sun turning the snow to mush.
This makes 30 Colorado 14k mountains, 28 to go🤞
Here are 4 pics going up. I will add 2 more posts for 4 summit shots and 4 photos going down.
Tomorrow is travel and laundry day. Class 4 Crestone Needle on the clock for Saturday🤞
Let’s GOOOO!

Beautiful day on the summit, with no wind.

There were some steep, snowy, scary down climbs with no fall zones. Wearing microspikes was a must.
Castle is my new favorite mountain. Well, at least until attempting Crestone Needle on Saturday.

Thanks for that post, it really made my morning!
The last 2 summit pics were from my trip in September 2024 of Blanca Peak and Crestone Peak.
