road into Roanoke. Messed up the front end. Replaced a fender and hood with used parts. Mechanics straitened out the tie rod and aligned the front end. Later that summer, repainted it white with red trim and matching interior. Looked great until my BIL rolled it down a hill outside of Danville. Second one was a 1952 Merc hardtop. Drove it till I graduated. Then a 1958 Chevy Impala convertible. Drove that one to California. New wife complained it was too big for her. Traded it in on a 61 Corvair for her. Yikes' Next was a 60 Caddie convertible. Then bought a 55 Chevy convertible from the guy I was carpooling with. Sold the two convertibles and bought a new 1968 Cougar XR7 & then I bought my 1968 F250 Ford truck for camping which I still have with only 70K mile on it. A divorce left me with the truck and her with the Cougar. Needing a car, I bought a1973 Porsche 914 2 liter. Best of the 914s. Bought a 1971 Chevy, but only for the engine the owner had installed for my boat, a 365 hp Corvette 327ci. Daughter still has the boat too. Somewhere along the way I also had a 69 merc and a chevy stepside truck. Owned them for such a short time, forgot the particulars. More up to date, a 1989 Acura Legend and 2010 Honda Pilot (best of the bunch) and a 1999 Infiniti SUV QX4 which I gave to a grandson. There might have been more, but too much for this old brain to remember.
