Yeah, we had an eco building and our cafeteria decided to use biodegradable utensils and they looked kind like those in the picture. I, of course, decided to see how long it would take to biodegrade and left one out on the deck, it got brittle after about six weeks although I suppose more would have happened if it had been covered in a moist compost heap. They stopped using them, guessing cost more than anything, or no one threw them in the recycle bin like people are really paying attention anyway.
