The old Ramada/Armada is no longer standing in Petersburg (link)
Rode down I-95 yesterday and other than debris on the ground...its gone. For about 30 or so years it was a
slowly deteriorating symbol of urban decline. More and more broken windows and graffiti every year. After it closed down as a Ramada Inn a cost conscious new owner flipped the R and first A in RAMADA...thus becoming the ARMADA Inn for a few years. The same font and colors as Ramada. Probably fooled a few weary travelers looking for accommodations. Not sure what replaces it (if anything). Petersburg is talking Casino, but not sure they have the infrastructure to operate one.
