What are the best tools to find a former VT roommate who is MIA?

We roomies are missing one of our pinochle playing buddies since graduation in 1988. How best to find him? Google, etc. common search engines are coming up bupkus. Thanks for advice - would like to contact this guy and find out how he's doing. MFC for the O'Shag Boyz
