That was the somewhat rare "added time on added time"

They had seven minutes of added time, but with the PK in added time there was additional clock stoppage there. Goals (and the resulting celebrations), VAR reviews, and some injuries often will put added time on added time The discretion is used to keep the leading team from undergoing all sorts of time-stealing tactics, such as taking their sweet time on throw-ins, set pieces, goal kicks, after saves, injuries, etc. Not that they don't still do all that, but if it's egregious the ref just lets the game go beyond the initially stated added time.

I learned just today that VAR is shown to refs in real time, not slo-mo.
