We have one of those for Jessie and used it when her previous surgery

was on her back near her tail. She couldn't get to that with the soft donut so the large hood/collar wasn't necessary. With this new one, Jessie can still get to lick or nibble at her left hind paw, so the big collar is required. We don't like it, either, but she's adapted to it very well overnight. By around 7/31 or 8/1 we can take it off.
