I grew up in Richmond, so I'm sort of an "outsider" Bills fan...I first became a fan of the team as a young kid because Jim Kelly's brother Ray was our neighbor, and because of Bruce Smith. But after they lost 4 consecutive Super Bowls, my broken heart couldn't take any more. As a teen I fell in love with college football and followed VT from then on, through my time in Blacksburg and beyond, and I kind of fell away from the NFL. It's only in the past ~5 years that I have completely shunned college football and started to really pay attention to the Bills again, so I haven't really scrutinized the new stadium plans. I've never been to a game at the "old" stadium, but one of the things I've always loved about the Bills is the "blue collar" fan base that takes pride in braving the cold. I understand the desire to have a domed stadium, as Buffalo's weather is harsh and a non-domed stadium would never be eligible to host a Super Bowl, but it seems like Buffalo is too small of a town to do that anyway, so I like the fact that they are sticking with the open-air concept. Like Green Bay, I think that is unique and provides a legitimate home home field advantage.
