Agree. My bigger point was that Honda's engine did not struggle with RBR...
at least not like it did a few years previously with Mclaren. True, that they had not won a drivers or constructors championship yet, but the decision to pull out was due to corporate decisions and not the engine performance.
Looking back, it was interesting that they didn't tell RBR their intent to stay such that RBR could potentially remain a partner. I suppose Honda knew that RBR wanted to "produce" their own powertrains, but I believe that was really only done by RBR when they no longer had a viable engine partner. The idea of a partnership with Porsche was announced, but they wanted majority stake in RBR, which was never going to happen.
