I agree it won’t be reset. I see it as more of a shift

The US has just burned (or at least weakened) a lot of bridges with trading partners. So it makes logical sense that other countries will reduce their risk by diversifying economic partnerships and reduce the reliance on the US. I fully agree that any manufacturing that comes to the US will not bring many jobs other than the initial construction. Robotics and minimal staffing are the modern approach and even more so in the future. The biggest impacts will be on US consumers and how much prices change and whether those temporary changes become permanent (much like the increases in airline fees over the years).
