"Voluntary isolation" is an interesting way to put it given all the
"failed" attempts the Indian government has tried to open communication channels with the Sentinelese. I didn't think the outside world was close to even crudely being able to communicate with them, so I didn't think we knew their "reasons." Immunity from diseases is probably a reason, but I didn't think it was the reason. Assuming their culture has any concept of disease and/or modern medicine.
FWIW there is a great documentary out about an American missionary (I forget his name) who was killed in the late 2010s or early 2020s and buried on the island when he illegally tried to make landfall.
