I did some additional research and
my farmhouse sink might be fireclay. It is suppose to be sturdier than other materials, Since I have not noticed staining and few scratches,it may be that material. Our house was originally owned/built by a former 3* General in the Army. So,he was very particular when he built the house and used the highest quality materials.
