Ever since Endgame and the pandemic, we haven't been to a lot of films - Marvel dropped so much in quality and there just haven't been a lot of good films produced. But it doesn't take a lot of time anymore for films to go from the theatres to streaming, so I mostly wait until then. And the better films I've seen are from indie studios - A24, Neon, etc. For instance, I discovered the Sean Baker catalog after watching Anora - stuff like Red Rocket and The Florida Project. Nowadays I appreciate someone who can make a really good film for under $5 million.
