I didn't make it quite a month after we lost our first dog

He passed away at the age of 15 and was dearly loved. I was so devastated that I swore I couldn't even think about another dog. But I kept going to the front door when I got home from work for two weeks solid to let Zeke out after he'd passed. When my wife pointed that out to me, I decided that we should probably get another puppy before I forgot my own training. Daisy joined our family a few weeks later and she's a great little hound who has been a great blessing to us. We just observed her 10th birthday, which reminded us that our time with her is likely growing short (even though she's perfectly healthy right now). But we'll burn that bridge when we get to it. The furry folks really only have one fault in my opinion. They just don't live long enough.
