Agree - you don't want anything messing up clean title to the property.

I would contact my attorney to get his input on what to do. I have never been through anything like this, but I had the following ideas. - Ask the contractor who are the subcontractors working on the job and contact them directly. Ask about whether they are getting paid and ask them to copy you on invoicing. - pay material suppliers and subcontractors directly. Ask for them to sign lien waivers. ** Edited by Guy LeDouche at 3/20/2024, 2:15:05 PM

You won't have to pay for it twice.

If his GC folds on him, he could very well have to pay it twice to release

Nope. If he can show he paid the GC once, the lien has to be released**
