Day 16 Elevation Vacation……🦃❤️🥾🏔️

I tried to post this yesterday, but the base camp in Rockport, WA had limited cell service. This was the last full day of hiking on this trip (Tuesday). Our 1 day in North Cascades NP was a bit of a disappointment due to my wife and her sore knees. I wanted to do Easy Pass or Cascades Pass but there were either snow or road closure issues. Some of the easier hikes were not actually on National Park land but National Recreational Area land. I found a hiking trail that gets into National Park and off we went. Our trail started off as Thunder Creek Trail. A beautiful trail with huge, Old Growth Doug Firs, Western Red Cedar, and Western Hemlock. Then it came to Fourth of July trail, which went to Fourth of July Pass. Finally, some elevation to gain🙂. My wife held back around 2000’ and I cruised up to 3500’ all the way to the pass. Normally, a pass will have vistas, but not today🤬. I did have a sort of vista on the way down, but not to my liking. The totals were 10 miles and with 2400’ of vertical gain. Tomorrow (today), we travel to Seattle to fly back home on Thursday. And there are a few pics to show coming later 🙂 Here are 4 trail/vista pics: In a few hours, I’ll be back.
