which means a checked bag was something like $30 each way. We were in carry-on luggage only. The lady at the counter was very quick to point out she couldn't do anything if we had checked bags, but since we didn't, she did her best to help us. Although, to be fair, we knew someone who was driving down for the karate event, so they carried our gear for us. We were just traveling with clothes and toiletries.
