you will be able to find parking downtown when you get there

there are office tower parking lots and surface lots that can house tens of thousands of people, they do it every day. The Spectrum Center only has about 20K capacity. So you can just show up and find a lot, no problem. I've done it for the sad Charlotte Hornets who play at the Spectrum Center. Its just a matter of pricing and how far you want to walk. I'd consider just ubering in from Davidson and with three occupants (the driver, you and your daughter) if they have an NC Quickpass (which many uber drivers do), using the HOV/toll lanes on I77 are free and you get there pretty quickly (30 minutes). If you didn't have 3 riders in the car, you can use the toll lanes for a dynamic pricing cost, but with 3 occupants, if the driver has the quickpass the toll lanes are free with 3 riders in the car. Oh, the merch thing, it's a big deal for the young ladies these days, or so my youngest daughter has fooled me into believing. :) When we were young, we were so much less merch consumers than the youngins are today. We didn't even use the term "merch" ** Edited by MaroonMark at 5/11/2026, 1:42:49 AM

Also - there's almost nowhere to eat within walking distance at Spectrum.
