Just finished watching...observations: (spoilers)

Mercedes nailed the new car formula, finishing 1st and 2nd. Ferrari (and the rest of the field) isn't as far behind as everyone thought. Ferrari is close on car performance, but their strategists haven't changed. They are by far the worst among the top teams...possibly the worst in the field. Mercedes pitted under yellow, saving at least 10 seconds in the pits. Ferrari decided to skip not one, but two possible yellow flag pitstops to pit under green. Charles finished ~10 seconds behind Kimi, so one has to wonder what would have happened if they did the smart thing and pitted under yellow? We call that, "Ferrari being Ferrari." Top 10: 1. George (M) 2. Kimi (M) 3. Charles (F) 4. Lewis (F) 5. Lando (McL) 6. Max (RBR) 7. Olly (H) 8. Lindblad (the rookie) (RB) 9. Bortoleto (Audi) 10. Gasly (Alpine) From what I could see the gap between Mercedes and Ferrari (on this track) was much less than between Ferrari and McLaren/RBR. That looked like a fairly sizable gap. Two thumbs up for Checo finishing the race for Cadillac! Didn't think the odds were very good for either Caddy to finish, but they did. He also finished ahead of both Aston Martin cars. 11. Ocon (H) 12. Albon (W) 13. Lawson (RB) 14. Colapinto (Alpine) 15. Carlos (W) 16. Checo (Cad) 17. Stroll (AM) The DNFs: 18. Alonso (AM) 19. Bottas (Cad) 20. Hadjar (RBR) 21. Oscar (McL) 22. Hulkenberg (Audi) I guess the biggest question for the season now, will Ferrari remove their cranium from their rectum, or continue "Ferrari being Ferrari?" If they can, they can give Mercedes a run for the money, but I'm not optimistic. (Have a feeling Lewis is happy with the car, but not happy with their strategy.)
