That's one trip I hope to take one day. All of my grandparents had passed
before I was born, but I had an Irish Godmother that helped raise my Mom, and then came to live with us late in her life that was my de facto grandmother. My head is full of all kinds of Irish history, as seen through her eyes. I can recite poems to this day that I heard over and over again. One of the most common stories/poems were concerning Robert Emmet, an Irish patriot that attempted an uprising and was put to death for treason. I will link his wiki, if you want a little history for possibly chewing the fat in a pub. You might impress some people, ha. And now, purely from memory, Robert Emmet Fairwell to My Sweetheart (more or less):
Never again in the moonlight we'll roam love
While the birds are at rest and the stars they do shine
Never again will I kiss your sweet lips love
Or wander by streamlets with your hand pressed in mine
For the hour is approaching let me take one fond look love
And cherish the heart that beats only for thee
For in truth I do swear that I'd never deceive thee
For next to my heart is my country and thee!
