Couple years ago, wife and I stopped ran into Publix just to grab a few items--went to the self-checkout, ran our items and as we were paying the system shut down. Called over one of their employees and they tried to do a reset, they called over a manager who also could not reset it either. Manager said she would ring us up at the customer service center. I told her right before it shut down it looked like it accepted our payment. She assured us that that did not happen and rang us up again and we paid. Later I'm looking at my bank account and I see I have 2 pending payments. I call and talk to the manager, and she says one of the pending items will not pay against my account. 2 days later I see both transactions have posted to my account. I take my receipt and a copy of my statement to Publix--They say they cannot give me an immediate credit--they have to pass it through to the HQ and it may take a week for me to get my credit. Week later I still do not have a credit. I go back to Publix they cannot do anything-- I talk to their HQ and they say they will look into the matter. It took 3 months before they credited back my money. I spent hours talking to managers, supervisors anyone at I could talk to at Publix and they kept passing the buck. I actually stop trying to get my refund after 2 months, we are talking about $29. Just swore I never would shop at Publix again. And I haven't.
