This past year I decided to become a financial donor ....
.... and subscriber to an organization near and dear to my heart.
I am talking about the New York City Ballet. NEVER did I make a better decision.
VT is still near and dear to my heart, but they are no longer the recipient of my primary attentions. Rather than drive on down to Lane Stadium for repeated disappointment, I take the train up to Lincoln Center in NYC regularly and receive joy in a proper fashion. Guaranteed. Every time. I love ballet, and ballet loves me back. You won't find NYCB screwing up their recruiting too much either!
I wish VT the best. I'll still watch some games on the stream and maybe once in awhile make it to Lane. And if something great happens I will cheer like mad for that. But I am no longer personally invested until VT gives me something to be invested about.
I suggest all of you go find where your joy is and pursue it. That won't be at Lane Stadium for the time being. Keep a weather eye open though over on the side. If you are not too old there might be time for things to cycle around again.

sentiment of your post regarding finding/supporting things you enjoy I do have some qualms about the post. First off you aren't really in the position to tell people they won't "find joy" at Lane Stadium. I wouldn't "find joy" at a ballet but I'm not going to blanketly say someone else won't. Obviously losing is not fun. But it's not like we never win at home. It's not like games are never fun. And plenty of people go to games to see friends and share experiences with fellow fans. That shouldn't be discounted especially during tough times in terms of on the field performance.
The other issue is more of a logical/financial one. If every fan checks out and stops supporting the program then there will never be "something to be invested about". I'm not saying we don't have money or that we shouldn't be getting better results for what we spend. But if everyone did the same thing you did then the program would wither and die. Sites like TSL would wither and die. You need people who stick with things during the down times. So while your post and actions make sense on a micro level they would be extremely damaging on a macro one.
I'm glad you are happy with your decision but it pretty much fits the definition of a bandwagon fan. That's fine, you do you. But just realize that teams need dedicated fans to sustain things.

If you’re going to be a sports fan and support a team that is in competition, you cannot be guaranteed wins. Even if you provide financial support, nothing is guaranteed. Even if you feel like you deserve more, deserve does not have much to do with being a sports fan. I applaud you on finding other interests.

If you study what high-level ballerinas and danseurs have to do, day in day out, it is just amazing. Some of the YouTubes out there will blow you away. The physicality is above EVERYBODY playing college football, IMO (though you could argue it's apples and oranges).

.... there have been some verrrry impressive displays of talent. It's wild that these two teams are playing football at this excellent level in week 1 of the season.
