during games, too. If everyone has to wear one, no competitive advantage. Maybe play suffers a little at first and it will look weird but they'll learn to deal with it.

Said this last week but if it were my brain health at risk I’d have that puppy strapped on every practice, every game. I have a nephew who was NFL material and played for a blue blood program at strong safety. Tall, solid guy who loved to deliver big hits…by the time he was finally starting he had so many minor concussions to go with 3 majors he and his family sought out the best specialist in the field. He ended up quitting the game he loved after playing since pop Warner. His dad, who coached four decades and had seen his share of misery, was firmly behind the decision. Football is a marvelous game but the athletes have out paced safety protocols. This helmet development is a big step in the right direction…VT was in a consortium of 4 schools (I think?) working on the patent.

and I'm guessing that its because the Guardian Caps don't look "cool". The SAFR shells that VT wears look cooler, and its safety ratings are pretty good (but not as good as the Guardian Caps), so maybe they'll catch on.
