Award winning faculty is a problem since it takes money...

to keep them here. They usually go to the AAU schools when offered more money, which I can't blame them for doing. Tech's graduate school needs to be larger. Research isn't the problem. Tech is ranked ahead of many AAU members in research. I think Tech is in the top 10 as a potential future AAU member but the AAU is very selective and is just as likely to remove members for failing to meet their criteria. Nebraska and Syracuse used to be in the AAU.
