What I see in the data is that SEC and BIG have vastly weaker OOC opponents and they use that to build up rankings and perception. Then the conference as a whole rides the inflated ranking wave when they play each other. Also it is very clear how much weaker the Tennessee and Indiana schedules were this year compared to other highlighted playoff teams.
