I suspect this will eliminate the obvious….

Such as cases where a winded defensive lineman falls down, leaves the field with the trainer and miraculously returns after missing only 1 play.

Bigger result of this rule will be the high volume of plays submitted for review/challenge by coaches after the game is over.
