The SEC rose with the tide of cable sports starting 30 years ago...

They had the product the most people wanted to see. It wasn't an artificial "hype machine". The SEC was home to the most programs with storied football traditions, passionate fans, 90k seat stadiums, and red hot rivalries. They surfed the ESPN / college football wave that started in the early 90s. Other conferences has one, maybe two of those, but not all of it. ** Edited by Techsupport at 5/17/2023, 10:57:04 AM
