Assuming he has formal offer from VT and maybe one from Ark, then the delay is either his agent squeezing for maximum money or it is JF getting greedy and looking around to see if a better option opens up before he settles. Either way, I don't like the treatment that VT is getting. That said, it is a big decision and he deserved the past week to consider the offer. However, any hiring company should actively work towards moving onto their next choice no later than the two week mark after an offer. The candidate might be in demand, but ultimately it is the hiring company that has the leverage because they have the paying job. So I would give JF until Nov 14, this Friday, to accept VT or we should move on. The risk of waiting for a long period is that we might not get any of our top 3 choices (assuming others are talking to the same coaches).
