I really miss the MD type QB. When employed at VT I would sneak off, cheat the State, and watch practice during the MB era. He was tough as a pine knot, kept his nose clean, loved to hunt, and I believe he was very cerebral when it came to the game of football. I’d take another MD type in a heartbeat.
Al Clark was another that, I feel, had that sort of moxie, perhaps not a great QB, but good enough, was fun to watch and garnered my respect.
