recruiting the first couple of years was on par with the normal beamer year

Kid of chicken and egg. Player development and S&C was bad. That took a couple of years to show up on the field. As more of the "under developed" guys were on the field, the results went south and then recruiting went south. Couple that with poor administration support for recruiting and it was very lean for a couple of years. As the support improved last year, the recruiting had an uptick. Last year's class was surprisingly decent given the lame duck coach. Not where it needs to be but decent. Hopefully we can get development and s&c back to standards. All that being said.... Hamilton is a hell of a guy but in no way, shape, or form should a guy with that little experience be a DC on a P5 team.
