I agree wholeheartedly.

People don’t want to believe it, but he was a significantly better player for us than Maddox was this year, on both ends of the court, for consistency, and for availability. Nobody can deny that Maddox not only regressed, he became a net negative, and then of course hasn’t played in a month. I doubt we see him again. Alleyne would’ve been a body, and those we need. He won us quite a few games, as much as people fixate on his shooting struggles here and there. We ran off Alleyne for a guy who didn’t work on his game and eventually went MIA. Hindsight is always 20/20 but we lost out big time. ** Edited by SkoHokies at 2/27/2023, 10:59:53 AM

Now that the season is over, can we agree Alleyne was a massive loss?
soflahokie 02/27/23 08:51 AM ET
Yes, with Maddox falling off the map he was a big loss.
4dhokies 02/28/23 12:03 PM ET
yes - he was one of our better wing defenders
kingofcassell 02/28/23 11:19 AM ET
Big loss, Mike would have sat MJ and played N Alleyne

I agree that you are negative 99% of the time. The season is not over.**
Walkin` Willie 02/27/23 02:18 PM ET
No, we traded a good offensive guy who was a really difficult matchup

I mean it’s not OVER over but it’s basically over.

No. Methinks you're suffering from a severe case of Premature Evaluation.
YBYSAIAHokie 02/27/23 12:35 PM ET
Disagree. Storm was a bigger loss.

Storm didn’t have any years left I don’t believe **

I'd argue that the loss of Chester Frazier may have been the real culprit
The_Phew 02/27/23 11:09 AM ET
You've got it right - certainly Alleyne would have played better defense at
IronBlood 02/27/23 03:17 PM ET
Frazier
Midwestguy 02/27/23 01:51 PM ET
Oh, I don't blame him for leaving.
The_Phew 02/27/23 01:55 PM ET
Huh? Cattoor never played at Wofford
HokieAl 02/27/23 01:07 PM ET
You're right re:Cattoor, but Frazier's bio at VT mostly bragged about:

Loss - maybe. Massive loss - no way.**

I am not talking about MJ...What he is contributing - good and bad - is
Hokeedokee 02/27/23 03:24 PM ET
He was ONLY because we lost Rice and Maddox for much of ACC play

TomTurkey 02/27/23 10:01 AM ET
He was a small loss, probably not massive
