While the current state of VT basketball feels a bit depressing - all of the focus and it seems most of the money going to football. But with a new AD coming in, the new AD will want to put their stamp on the athletic department. It seems that most believe the new AD will be hiring a men's basketball coach in the not-too-distant future. Hopefully, Franklin works out for football, so the new AD will only have the chance to make a statement with the basketball coach hire and needs to get this hire right. It seems that there may be a lot of pressure on the new AD to do something good with the basketball program, as that is the top program at VT that the new AD will be able to truly influence. It may be hard to find the necessary money for the basketball program, but I think there will be a lot of motivation to address those basketball concerns.
