Bless Mike Young if he truly wants to come back and do this again.

Wouldn’t be for me. The sport has been ruined, as all college sports have been. The NCAA failed to get ahead of an issue and define it on its own terms, so predictably it got whacked and this is what we are dealing with. I’m not optimistic that real change is coming. The House settlement seems to be dragging on, and even after (if) it gets finalized, the NCAA continues to twiddle its thumbs and not make decisions on key issues like a universal fifth year of eligibility, actually setting roster limits by sports so teams can plan, and so on, so forth. So next year will be the wild Wild West once again. VT is not the type of school that benefits from all of this, certainly not in basketball. We do not have enough NIL to get really good players and we aren’t winning much, so guys aren’t going to come here to try and win a championship, even if money be damned. That’s just where we are. I don’t see how we get off the hamster wheel, no matter who our coach is. Just surprised that Mike Young is willingly taking this on for another year.

There is that. But if you’re Young, is it worth your sanity?
