Yes, I would be absolutely fine with VT dropping down to Division II.

I realize that's not a popular opinion, but I fail to see how VT can stay competitive against schools that can purchase the best players, nor do I think that universities should even be involved in what has become professional sports. What exactly is the goal for VT basketball? If the NIT is "beneath us", yet the team was unable to secure an invitation to the NCAA tournament with what was supposed to be the best roster in a long time, then what exactly is the standard the fans should expect?
