You're not breaking anything to me.

I'm well aware that athletes have been paid under the table for a very long time. But now that we don't have to pretend they are amateurs, we don't need to shield them from candid assessment. The only reason they get paid (in tuition, room and board, NIL, stipends, under the table) is because of fans. If the sport wasn't popular, no one would care and therefore they wouldn't be provided anything. They get the benefits and they also are subject to some public criticism.
