Of aau basketball parenting where everyone is a jerk. Side story. My kid was playing aau B basketball, the lowest level. Erik Green’s mom had a team that was beating us 60-3 at halftime. They came out in the second half and full court pressed us. Then the parents cussed off the court. We asked a Boo Williams coach why the other team didn’t move up. He said they enjoyed crushing teams. Please note that this did not help any of their players improve. Just the parents and coaches being selfish. I digress. In upward and these are little kids, there are no clear outs, no double teams and no running up the score. Just learning the game and learning life lessons. One or two coaches were dongs, but the kids, the parents and most of the coaches made you feel like you had invested your time wisely and you felt good afterwards.
